As Co-Founder of Blo Blow Dry Bar, one of three companies that she founded, Judy helped pioneer the first-to-market blow-dry bar into an international franchise. During Judy's time as Chair of Smart Sweets, she helped lead the company to a successful transaction.
Judy is also a creative entrepreneur with deep expertise in fiscally responsible business building, leadership development, and brand growth. She has guided and championed countless founders through high-stakes decisions—whether coaching executives on mindful leadership or designing strategies for scalable, sustainable success. As Co-Founder of Blo Blow Dry Bar with Judy and Devon Brooks, he helped pioneer a first-to-market franchise model, turning the brand into a global success story.
His commitment to purpose-driven leadership traces back to 2002, when he co-founded the Kindness Crew, a national movement that inspired a best-selling book on compassion and the Extreme Kindness Tour—a 110-day journey across Canada performing radical acts of generosity. This venture reinforced his belief that business is one of the most powerful platforms for systemic change—a philosophy that later guided his tenure as Vice President of Operations at Nurse Next Door, where he helped scale the company into one of North America’s fastest-growing healthcare franchises.
As President and CEO of the BC Chamber of Commerce, Val advocated for business owners, economic resilience, and policy transformation, to better position BC-based-brands to navigate the disruptions of the pandemic and scale with confidence.

Sonya Atwal is a senior accounting professional with over 20 years of experience in full-cycle accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, and strategic financial leadership. Since joining Brainchild Strategies as Money Lead Manager in October 2021, she has played a key role in helping clients make informed financial decisions through accurate reporting, operational insight, and proactive planning.
Prior to this role, Sonya held senior leadership positions including Controller, VP of Finance, and CFO for several public and private companies across various industries. Her expertise includes regulatory compliance, audit management, system implementation, and team development.
A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CGA), Sonya also holds a BBA in Accounting and Information Technology. She is recognized for her precision, strong work ethic, and commitment to client success.
Maheep Dhillon
Operations Advisor
Maheep is an entrepreneur and operator who loves solving complex problems and turning ideas into clean, workable systems. With 15+ years of experience across CPG, wellness, and regulated consumer industries, he brings a calm, structured approach to building the operational foundations that help brands scale with confidence.
Most recently, Maheep led operations and supply chain at Rainbo, overseeing sourcing, procurement, product development, NPN/FDA readiness, and commercialization across DTC, retail, and Amazon. He’s known for his data-driven thinking, clarity of process, and ability to improve margins through disciplined follow-through and operational design.
Earlier in his career, he guided multi-site operations, major product launches, and end-to-end execution for high-growth organizations — partnering closely with founders and teams to move from vision to delivery. His work spans scaling systems, coaching teams, and helping organizations navigate key growth transitions.
